Hearing Instrument Specialist
Joel Myers B.S., BC-HIS is a Nationally Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. He graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, UT with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Spanish emphasis. Joel started his 2-year internship in Salt Lake City, UT in 2013. He has since been a Specialist in various clinics working with all major manufacturers of Hearing aids.
Before college, Joel served a 2-year humanitarian mission in Lima, Peru. “To be able to live with and serve the families in Peru has been one of the most valuable experiences of my life.” While in Peru, Joel became fluent in Spanish.
Joel married the love of his life in 2007 in Salt Lake City. They have 3 fantastic kids. He enjoys spending time with his family including riding bikes, playing pickle ball, softball, football, soccer and more. “My favorite day of the year is Daylight savings time. I get one more hour in the evening with my family!”
In this fast-paced, technological world. Hearing aids are ever evolving. Joel stays up to date on all advances to make sure every patient has the best hearing available to fit their needs. “The part of my job I love the most is when my patients tell me of the sounds they NOW hear but had forgotten. They tell me, ‘I forgot my soda FIZZED!’ or ‘Well, I never leave my turn signal on anymore!’ It’s important to me that they hear all they can.”
“Hearing loss is similar to seeing in only black and white. Yes, you can live that way, but how much are you missing? Hearing, and clearly understanding family, friends and neighbors is what I want for every one of my patients.”
Joel is incredibly thorough. He is the hearing doctor guy. He is so thorough so wonderful he thinks of everything out of the box. He uses up-to-date technology.
